Just got another copyright strike on a song I just put together today.

I guess that’s the risk you take with playing presets on Garageband. I took almost an hour to arrange this orchestra beat in the way that I wanted it to sound and then Youtube turns around and says that its worthless. I looked up the only information they gave me as to what my music sounds like and couldn’t find anything on, “Light Rain (Original Mix)” that sounded anywhere close to what I put together. This has happened more than once between Youtube and Soundcloud. I think they are copyright strike trigger happy with their bots. I guess its better to be safe than sorry for them.

I think that Myspace found it better to be sorry with all the copyright music that they allowed to be played. They found out the hard way and lost their footing partly to all the illegal content that was uploaded. Youtube doesn’t tolerate anything even remotely close to copyright material.

Now that I think of it, Facebook played it really careful, comparison to the other social websites in that they didn’t allow any music to be shared between people at all. That decision kept a lot of lawyers off their backs so they could grow their user base. Anyway, I digress, here’s the video:

This is the Claimant. What kind of institution has a name like this?  “One or more music publishing rights collecting societies”
