Raisons can cause kidney failure in dogs? I find this statement interesting as the dark colored foods are supposed to be stimulating for the kidneys in TCM. Dogs show how they are extra sensitive to early effects of this type of food. So, if you think about it, even larger quantities of raisons in the human diet may lead to similar kidney problems. Dogs are just the early-early warning signs.
Take chocolate as another example, it affects dogs negatively. I have had problems with chocolate myself. Perhaps my digestion is not too much different from a dogs. The dog is just more carnivorous than me and doesn’t require the fiber amounts that humans do. But the phytonutrients involved in plants will affect a human just as much as a dog, but the difference comes between our tolerance levels of such food.
