I, stupidly, got cajoled into sort of starting an empty LinkedIn profile and how I’m getting requests to join/accept invitations to be in some sort of circle jerk or something … from people I don’t know!
Is this customary? Total strangers approaching you and asking to pretend to be a business associate or some god damned thing that looks pretty flakey?
Is that the way it’s supposed to be?
Mr. Man stated, “I’d like to connect with you on LinkedIn.”
I’m all like … did you, um, just proposition me? Connect with me? Like carnally? Ethereally? What is this “connect” business everyone is talking about? Is that AdultSpeak for a random hookup? What do you want from me? Why are you harassing me? Why is this happening?!
Should I accept? I don’t even know this guy, although he’s kinda cute in a shyster sort of way. He calls himself an “entrepreneur,” which in my neighborhood means, “You make the money and I’ll spend it on lost causes. Sounds pretty good, don’t it?!”
What should I do?
I really don’t see the value of it.
I politely tell those who request me to link that I am just old fashioned and do not post my personal info anywhere on the web.
So far as strangers, they are probably just trying to boost there stats… a faux status thing..
I don’t post my personal shit ANYWHERE. Yeah, uh that’s a huge resounding no. It’s all downside and obnoxious people … why would I do that?
…. Faux status, like everyone else… § < SlamDunkProBonoLLP >
who have no social life. They value their wealth by the number of LinkedIn contacts, and Facebook friends they have…..
and send spam invitations on your behalf urging those people to create linkedin profiles. They are a monumentally sketchy company and really deserve to be shut down. I would rather be stricken with super ebola than saddled with a fucking linkedin profile of my own.
It’s on … a separate email client.
it will mine your contacts for email addresses, just like the fakebook app does.
That’s outrageous. Why don’t they just take an unasked-for inventory of my purse, the motherfuckers.
a linkedin account.
I make my own clothes and sit home on weekend nights trying various beauty treatments.
